Guidelines and Health and Safety

For the Safety, Security and Privacy of everyone, the following instructions will be in place for the duration of Camp. Anyone not adhering to the rules of the camp will be asked to leave. All campers are expected to stay at/on the campsite during the entire camp period. For the safety of everyone and for the assurance of all parents, all staff are specially chosen and dedicated to their responsibility. All staff have been subject to a background check.  

 

The LTL/YTC Camp is a Christian interdenominational week of fun and fellowship in the Idyllwild mountains to give children ages 8-17 years old a spiritual experience as well as education against the dangers of alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Our goal is for you to have a Good Time with a Purpose during your stay.

 

Housing

Campers sleep in cabins. Children’s beds are mostly Twin size bunk-beds with safety rails on the upper bunks. Beds for the Counselors are Full or Queen. Please bring bedding to cover the waterproof mattress(flat and/or fitted sheets) along with a sleeping bag. Blankets, comforters are alternatives. Bring a pillow if desired. It can get cold at night. Each cabin has a heater with a wall-mounted thermostat.

 

There are separate Male and Female Washroom and Showering Facilities with curtains within a few feet of the cabins that are open 24/7 and maintained by the Camp Staff. We need all campers help to maintain these facilities in decent order!

 

There is one coin operated washer and dryer, but campers are advised to pack clothing for 5 days and 4 nights.

 

Banking

Campers of all ages should bring spending money (cash)for crafts, snack bar, offerings. There will be a bank for the children to safely hold their funds until needed. The bank is open daily during recreation time. Campers will also need money for lunch at McDonalds prior to arrival at camp on Sunday.

 

Health

We will have a nurse available 24/7.  Upon arrival and check-in at camp, all children’s medicine will be inventoried and maintained at the Nurse’s station. Please bring ALL medication needed for the week. Daily doses of your child’s medications will be taken and documented by the Nurse.

 

Health forms are required and must be signed by a parent or guardian for each minor and received before traveling on the bus or before entrance to the camp facilities.

 

Please advise the Nurse of any recent changes in health that have occurred since the health form was submitted.

 

The Nurse will maintain the confidential health forms.

 

Covid vaccinations, booster shots and testing are highly recommended but not required by the Camp Owners. If you have any cold, flu or Covid symptoms, please stay home!

 

Parents, please call or email us if you have any special concerns or needs for your child. We can discuss whether the modifications can be accommodated.

 

Dining

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are served at 7:45, 12 noon and 5 pm. The snack bar will be open for a limited time during recreation time. The cafeteria does serve food (fish sticks, peanut butter)that are NOT compatible for those with certain allergies. There are multiple options/food selections at each meal. The camp fee includes your child’s breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks are optional for your child to purchase. Please refrain from bringing your cellphone to the Dining Hall at mealtime. The first meal will be Sunday 5:00PM.  Please send lunch or lunch money with your child for the drive up. Lunch stop at McDonalds.  The last meal will be Breakfast Thursday morning. Return at 1pm. No lunch stop on the way back.

Morning Activities: Monday-Wednesday

Chapel, Christian Living, healthful living, narcotics education, and character-building classes. Please bring a printed Bible. Please refrain from using cellphones during services or classes.

 

Afternoon Activities: Monday-Wednesday

Recreation: Swimming, Hiking, Baseball, Basketball, Foosball

Crafts, Relaxing, Reading.  Hiking-if you participate in a hike organized by the counselors, it is recommended that you wear long pants, rugged shoes and a long-sleeved shirt or jacket. Hikes are not super aggressive, only around the campground perimeter.

 

Basketball/Baseball-equipment is provided

Swimming-Males in swim trunks. No Speedos

Females in one-piece bathing suit, a tankini, swim dress or swim

shorts. No bikinis or thong swimwear.

We will have a camp Lifeguard on duty. You will need to prove

your swimming ability before using the diving board or going

beyond the shallow end of the pool.

Evening Activities: Sunday-Wednesday

Night Service, Singing, Films, Skits, Talent Show etc. Firebowl Service
